What is IRCTC PNR Prediction

It is a tool developed by IRCTC for predicting the confirmation probability of waitlisted tickets during booking and PNR enquiries. The tool utilises a Machine Learning algorithm trained on two years worth of waitlisted PNR data to create predictive patterns for future journey dates. This feature is integrated into the Indian Railway Catering & Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) website and operational  since June 13, 2018.

Key features of the tool

The tool enhances the user experience by providing valuable insights into ticket confirmation chances for more convenient train travel planning. Some of key features are as follows:
  •  Prediction for General Quota waitlist status.
  •  Consideration of high waitlist scenarios, especially during holiday periods.
  •  Displaying trends from the previous year's waitlisted ticket confirmations for the same journey.
  •  Dynamic probability prediction based on the current booking status.
  • Users can check the probability of confirmation when booking a waitlisted ticket or during PNR enquiries.
