One Station One Product List -How to Apply

Introduction

Indian Railway launched "One Station One Product" (OSOP) scheme on 25th March 2022, aligning with the 'Vocal for Local' vision and with primary objectives to include promoting indigenous products, creating additional income opportunities for marginalised communities, and providing a market for local artisans. As of December , 2023, there are 1189 operational OSOP outlets at 1083 railway stations.

What is one station one product

The 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) concept seeks to promote indigenous and specialized products and crafts of India by establishing display and sale outlets at railway stations nationwide. These products are unique to each location and may include artifacts crafted by indigenous tribes, handlooms by local weavers, and renowned handicrafts such as wood carving, chikankari, and zari-zardozi work on clothing. Additionally, locally grown spices, tea, coffee, and other processed or semi-processed food items are part of the envisioned offerings. 
This initiative is designed to enhance the skills and livelihoods of local artisans and producers. 

Objective of one station one product

The 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) scheme, as unveiled in the Union Budget 2022-23, encompasses a four-fold objective: 
a) Advocating the 'Vocal for Local' vision of the Government of India. 
b) Establishing a marketplace for local and indigenous products. 
c) Offering railway passengers the chance to explore the rich heritage of India and purchase local or indigenous products. 
d) Generating additional income opportunities for marginalised sections of society.

Product covered under OSOP

The product categories under this scheme include:
a) The product or products selected for a specific station must be locally or indigenous to that particular place or area. 
b) The product categories encompass: 
   i) Handicrafts/Artifacts 
   ii) Textiles and Handlooms 
   iii) Traditional Garments 
   iv) Local Agricultural produce/Processed/Semi-processed food.

How to apply for one station one product

Follow the below steps for allotment of OSOP Outlets Indian railway station:
 a) The applicant must submit an application, along with eligibility documents and contact number, to the respective Station Master. 
 b) Interested applicants will submit their applications in the prescribed format to the respective Station Master. All applications received by the last submission date will be forwarded to the Assistant commercial Manager, or Sr. Divisional commercial Manager of a division for scrutiny and subsequent selection. 
c) The selection committee, responsible for awarding Commercial contracts at the divisional level, will consist of three Jr. Scale Officers (Commercial, Accounts, and one from another department).
g) Allotment will be made based on the priority roster for a maximum period of 15 days in one spell. This process will continue until all applicants in the priority roster are exhausted. 
h) The allotment letter will be issued upon payment of the allotment fee by the allottee. 
i) Special encouragement should be given to new vendors.

Eligibility Criteria for OSOP participation

The selection of participants in the OSOP scheme aims to ensure that the benefits reach the marginalised sections, specifically individuals at the bottom of the pyramid. Priority will be accorded to the following categories: 
a) Holders of Artisan/Weaver ID cards issued by the Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Development Commissioner Handloom, or the relevant State/Central Government Authority. 
b) Individual artisans, weavers, or craftsmen who are enrolled or registered with entities such as the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Limited (TRIFED), National Handloom Development Corporation (NHDC), Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), etc. 
c) Self-Help Groups registered with the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). 
d) Individuals from marginalised or weaker sections of society.

Registration Fee and Other Charges

a) A nominal registration fee of ₹1000/- (inclusive of GST) will be charged on a lump sum basis, irrespective of the type and size of the outlet, for the allotment period of 15 days. 
b) Electrical charges shall be settled based on the actual consumption by the allottee.

As of December 20, 2023, there are currently 1189 operational 'One Station One Product' (OSOP) outlets spread across 1083 stations. check out the station name state wise.

General Instructions 

a) To prevent crowding at stations, a maximum of 2 salesmen per outlet (including platform vendor) will be permitted in one shift. 
b) Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as FSSAI norms, waste management, pollution control, etc. 
c) Utilise biodegradable materials for packaging the items sold through these outlets. 
d) For food items, maintain proper hygiene and quality. 
e) Encourage computerised billing and facilitate cashless transactions through methods like POS/swipe machines, BHIM, UPI, payment wallets, etc. 
f) Any applicable taxes shall be the responsibility of the allottee. 
g) The staff/salesman/exhibitor must carry an Identity Card/authority issued by the Sr. Divisional commercial Manager following the due procedure. 
h) Requests for the cancellation of the outlet by the applicant may be considered at any time after the submission of the requisite application; however, the registration fee will be forfeited.
